The Hornets traveled to Grayson on another cold windy late February evening to play the Grayson Rams. A game that most fans had hoped would be brief allowing them to get back to the warmth of their cars: turned out to be an exciting three plus hour offensive display, with the Hornets going home with their first road victory of the 2010 season.
The Hornets used 4 pitchers in the following order: Chris Wright, Matt Simpson, Anthony Petitti and Tyler Greene. Anthony Petitti (1-0) gets the win and Tyler Greene gets the save.
Both teams put on an offensive display with the Hornets long balls making up the difference. The Hornets hitting and RBI leaders were as follows: Zane Evans (2) singles, (2) doubles, (1) HR and (5) RBI’s. Nick Vinson put the Hornets ahead for good in the top of the 6th inning with an exciting line-drive Grand Slam shot to dead-center field, he also reached on a base-on-balls and had 4 RBI’s.
