Roswell got on the board early with Matt Meeder getting hit by a pitch, a double by Kurt Kaiser and Alex Dickerson scored a run on a hard hit ball at the shortstop. Syd Hopkins and Drew Davis draw walks and Dalton Durocher doubles in two runs. Hornets – 3 – Eagles – 0.
Milton came right back putting up four runs in the top of the second inning. Roswell answered back with Anthony Anello singled up the middle, Matt Meeder singled down the 3rd base line, Kurt Kaiser singled up the middle followed by Alex Dickerson who hits a single to right field. Drew Davis and Dalton Durocher get on by errors. Hornets – 7 – Eagles – 4.
The Hornets hold Milton in the top of the third inning. Zach Hald walks, Matt Meeder doubles, Kurt Kaiser hits a single to left field scoring two more runs. Syd Hopkins gets on by an error and scores Kaiser. Hornets – 10 – Eagles – 4.
The Hornets pitching and defense shuts down Milton in the fourth and fifth innings. In the fourth, Dalton Durocher hits a double to centerfield. Bennett Barton pinch runs and scores on a pass ball. Hornets – 11 – Eagles – 4.
Milton threatens in the sixth inning but Roswell turns a double play and Matt Meeder strikes the next batter to get out of the inning. Dalton Durocher hit another single to left field. Bennett Barton pinch runs but is left stranded. FINAL: Hornets – 11 – Eagles – 4.
The JV Hornets will play the Marist War Eagles at home this coming Monday at 5:55 p.m.
